Position: Logistics Officer

PoweredUp Consulting is recruiting for a client and we are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Logistics Officer.
Familiarity with the Northern part of Nigeria and the ability to communicate fluently in Hausa language will be a strong determining factor.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and order fulfillment.
- Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and transportation companies to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
- Monitor and track shipments, ensuring they meet quality and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, tracking stock movements, and conducting regular stock audits.
- Optimize logistics processes to improve efficiency and minimize costs, while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Prepare and analyze logistics reports, providing insights and recommendations to management for process improvements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms of agreements.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards in logistics activities.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in logistics management
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2 years of experience in logistics operations or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles, logistics processes, and best practices.
- Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) and other logistics software.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve logistics-related issues
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast -paced environment
- Proficient in using MS Office Suit
